It’s almost that time again for Santa Claus to start making his rounds around the world. Every year it seems it becomes easier and easier to track Santa, thanks to technology. The best, and most trusted place to track Jolly Ole’ Saint Nick is the NORAD Santa Tracker website. However, with mobile first in mind, and the fact that most people are just too busy to track Santa on the computer, here are three apps to track Santa using an Android phone.
The Official NORAD Santa Tracking App Free
Of course NORAD now has an official NORAD Tracks Santa App. The app went live in the Google Play Store on November 30th so it’s still pretty fresh off the presses. The app countdown’s the days until Christmas Eve, and then on December 24th the magic comes alive. NORAD integrates their online tracker into a mobile app so that you and your kids can track him on an Android smartphone or Android tablet. This means that the kids can track Santa in bed, in the car or wherever they are.
The official NORAD app also includes a game called “Thin Ice”. In the game you help the elves deliver presents. What in the world is NORAD? An info section adds that and talks about NORAD’s mission the other 364 days of the year. Download it here from the Google Play Store.
Santa Tracker 2K $1.99
Santa Tracker 2K was introduced last Christmas. The app features a few more screens then the NORAD app but graphically isn’t as rich. Santa Tacker 2K also allows your children to send an email letter to Santa and Santa will even send a response.
Santa Tracker 2K made our list because it has some cool features for parents on Christmas eve. Using your GPS location the app shows where Santa is in relation to your home. Not only that but Santa Tracker 2K also lets you enter your children’s bed time and it will move Santa closer to your location as the time gets closer to bedtime.
The downside to this app is to make sure if you use Santa Tracker 2K you don’t use the NORAD app referenced above or your kids aren’t using the NORAD site on a computer, if you enter your children’s bedtimes Santa will be in two places at one time,.

Santa Tracker Christmas- $1.99
Santa Tracker Christmas will also set you back $1.99 but the graphically rich app has some good features. You can countdown to Santa’s big ride, check out where Santa has been seen, find out the latest Santa news, read Santa’s blog and even send Santa a letter.
The app was released last year and wasn’t up to par but the developer has worked on it all year and fixed tracking issues for other countries and given the app an overhaul.
