iphone-6

Many people have longed for a larger screen iPhone device for years, and while Apple did bump the screen size up in the iPhone 5 it just wasn’t enough for many people. With Android devices growing so large many people think that the 3.5 and 4 inch displays are just too tiny and want something bigger. C Technology was able to talk with some industry insiders that have claimed that Apple is already testing devices internally with a 4.9 inch screen size, almost an inch bigger than the current devices. This is certainly not the first time that rumors have floated about larger screen Apple devices coming up next year, we just saw reports that there may be a 12.9 inch iPad coming to market early next year as well.

According to the report Apple will be bumping up the screen size of its flagship device, likely dubbed the iPhone 6, as well as the iPhone 5c successor which will likely be named the iPhone 6c. While in the past Apple may have kept the previous version smaller it would make more sense to keep them the same size to encourage developers to upgrade their applications timely as there would be tons of users with another screen size out there. This would also keep Apple’s step into the larger phones, what some refer to as “phablets” a bit more uniformed as they’d just have one size for both new models, which is definitely in Apple fashion.

Beyond the fact that the device will tout a 4.9 inch display additional details were not given and the rest is up to the imagination at this point. Rumors have pointed to a curved display at the edges on the next generation iPhone devices, and some have said it will be an edge to edge display. At this point we have to just sit and wait for the leaks to continue to surface, and if everything goes as it has in previous years we will know soon enough just how the iPhone 6 will actually look.
