The International Society for Technology in Education, more affectionately known as ISTE, is holding it’s annual mega conference in less than two weeks in Atlanta Georgia at the World Congress Center. The conference is often billed as the largest educational technology conference in the world and runs from June 28th to July 1st and will feature over 900 different sessions and hundreds of exhibitors ranging from big mega companies like Samsung, Qualcomm and Google to a slew of new edtech startups. We can’t wait to give you all the coverage starting on Friday June 27th at the unconference now know as Hack Ed 14.

Hack Ed 14 happens Friday June 27th from 8:00am-4:00pm in rooms B303 and B304 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Now in it’s eighth year the event, which was formally known as EduBloggerCon, is all about networking and collaborating without a set conference agenda, normally between 200-300 educators attend.

“There are no formal presentations, just “conversations” that you or others facilitate. Those who lead sessions are not expected to prepare material but just to facilitate discussion.” ISTEunplugged.com the official HackEd website says.

The HackEd event doesn’t require formal registration but they do like to have an idea of how many to expect. It’s totally free thanks to the generosity of ISTE.

Here’s the schedule:

8:00 am Organizers Meeting (anyone welcome)
Rooms B303/304 + B302 and B305
Identify rooms/areas for discussions sessions
Determine roles and process: session ideas organizing, wiki mirroring, hashtag creation, etc.
9:00 am Session Creation Process–final proposals and voting!
9:30 am Organizing Begins
Socializing time while organizers meet. Organizers order the ideas by 1) most interest and 2) similar/identical topics. Sessions are scheduled into the wiki (here) by placing most popular topics each in a separate time slot. Other sessions are then thoughtfully added to time slots with some desire to balance the schedule and interest levels (an art, not a science)
Wiki reveals the schedule for the day (see below)
