As hard as it is to do sometimes, there are times and places that we have to put our phones on silent. Though necessary, leaving your phone on silent for a long time can be a real pain, causing you to miss calls and notifications. To fight this, you can either be glued to your silent phone or check out this new project we just came across on Kickstarter:

LED ME Know

This is the LEDmeKnow. In a nutshell, LEDmeKnow is a sort-of visual notifier. Rather than continually glancing at your phone, you can sync it up with the LEDmeKnow, and receive notifications visually:

Put your phone on silent and don’t miss a thing. Lights let you know – with a glance at a sleek box – who’s trying to reach you.

Each Square = Person, Group of People, Type of Contact or App

You want to know who’s calling, emailing, texting, facebooking, WhatsApping, tweeting you. You’re getting pretty sick of checking your phone all the time.

Glance over at a small, modern box that looks like a Rubik’s Cube and know immediately who has been reaching out.

Put your phone on silent and don’t miss a thing. A sleek box that looks like a Rubik’s Cube will show you – with a glance – exactly who has been trying to reach you.  1

Through the LEDmeKnow’s free companion app, you can set up nine different notifications for a ton of different types of interactions:

LedMeKnow consists of nine segments, each of them can operate independently. Each segment can be given a color and a notification type. You assign a group of contacts / applications, whose notifications will be displayed in a particular segment. You decide who’s important.2

LEDmeKnow NotificationsThis is an incredibly unique project. The LEDmeKnow can last one month on a single charge, and syncs to your phone via Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy. Right now, there are a few $60 early bird deals left on the Kickstarter campaign, after those are gone, the device jumps up to $115. Here is a good look at the LEDmeKnow in action:
