Google Glass, Samsung, Galaxy Glass, TechGoogle has done an amazing job of hyping up Google Glass and they should, they’ve had plenty of time to do it. Google unveiled their wearable glass product at their Google I/O developer conference in May of 2012 (yes a year and a half ago), then at this past years Google I/O conference Google’s earliest developers had already received their demo units and they were showing off hundreds of things they can do with Google Glass. But they haven’t made it to the mass market just yet.

Developers are innovators are clamoring to get their hands on the next generation of technology and for good reason, the “Internet of Things” seems to be the hottest space in the world right now. So hot that Samsung is taking every opportunity they can to get a product to market before their competitors.

Samsung did it already with the Samsung Galaxy Gear a smartphone enabled watch that couples fitness with productivity. The Galaxy Gear is currently only supported by one smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but they have plans to add the Galaxy S 4 and the Galaxy S 3 to the mix as well.

Now, BriefMobile is reporting that they want to quickly get into the glass play as well.

BriefMobile posted some shots from the Korean patent agency showing off Samsung’s version of Google Glass.

Samsung’s version of Glass looks more like safety glasses you would wear while playing tennis or raquetball. They seem to have a sportier flair about them. They also have a camera mounted on the front and ear buds coming off the side, something that Google has designed better.

BriefMobile cites the Wall Street Journal which brings up the fact that they are called “sport glasses” which could be a play off a “go-pro” like device, however with Samsung’s deep ties to Google it’s not a far fetch to think they will be Android enabled and perhaps called Galaxy Glass.
