On Wednesday, Zens released what looks to be an awesome new product. Zens is European company that designs and manufactures a ton of different charging products. The majority of their product line focuses on Qi wireless charging. According to the Qi Wikipedia page, Qi “is an interface standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium for inductive electrical power transfer over distances of up to 4 cm.”¹

Zens’ new product is the ZENS Qi Wireless Car Charger (left). The car is one of the places where wireless charging has the most potential. If you have ever had to answer a call while the phone was plugged into a car charger, you know what I mean. Anyhow, this new wireless car charger look pretty awesome:

Designed for quick and intuitive charging, this Qi-enabled cup holder allows you to charge any compatible smartphone without the annoyance of tangled cables. The ZENS Qi Wireless Car Charger sits in your car’s cup holder and is powered by the vehicle power (cigarette) charger (supplied in the box). Simply place your smartphone in the slot and it will start charging wirelessly.²

The Zens Qi Wireless Car Charger has an MSRP of €69.99, or around $96 USD. The device will be available by April 15th of this year.
