ShapifySelfies are huge. What started out as self pictures taken in the bathroom mirror, became an epidemic when front facing cameras became a reality. Now, selfies are so popular that the word selfie was the 2013 word of the year.

Selfie’s have evolved over the years. From the bathroom mirror days, to the front facing camera, to the sometimes naughty snap chats, the selfie has come a long way. Vine and Instagram allow you to take video selfies and share them with all of your friends and followers. So what’s next?

3D selfies.

Shapify is a Microsoft Kinect app. The app scans your body and then puts a 3d image of yourself on your Xbox screen, and then you can have it made into a 3D figurine for just $59.

CNet describes the process like this:

“Using Kinect for Windows or Kinect for Xbox 360, you can scan in your own image. First, you need to download and install the Shapify.me app and the Microsoft Kinect SDK.

Then you connect the Kinect to your computer and press the “capture” button to start scanning. This is when you need to get into position — about 3 feet away from the Kinect, which should be at about chest height — and strike a pose, turning slowly in a circle, stopping at 45-degree intervals for eight shots. ”

Shapify ships to the US, Canada and Europe.
