Gametime Play

This week, we are in Nashville, TN for the annual National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) conference. Much like ISTE, we brought along our 6 year old special correspondent Tatum F. Tatum is here to help us find the good stuff, that young kids like. One such thing is the GameTime play grounds. Needless to say, Tatum was impressed.

GameTime Playground

GameTime playgrounds stand out for a couple different reasons. Firstly, they are built 100% in the United States. The company is based out of Fort Payne, Alabama and has an office in Nashville, TN. That is unique among most of the playground equipment manufacturers.

Further, GameTime makes a concerted effort to source and use as much green material as possible. Again, this is quite unique among playground manufacturers:

For nearly a century, we’ve created products that are made from responsible materials, manufactured in a sustainable manner and designed to be easily reclaimed at the end of their life cycle..We work with our suppliers to source the most environmentally preferable materials for our products – and our processes. When possible, we also make every effort to find opportunities to work with vendors and suppliers in our local communities to minimize the carbon output associated with transporting materials…The more recycled content we use, the more we help keep existing materials in a continuous cycle of use and reuse, reducing our consumption of virgin raw materials in the process. From steel to plastic, we include as much pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content in our products as possible – without compromising the quality, durability and performance our customers count on.1

Here at NAESP, our 6 year old special correspondent Tatum had a chance to play on one of GameTime’s playgrounds, and ask the company’s representative a few questions:
