When a marriage or a relationship breaks up over infidelity many people immediately set their eyes on the ex. After a little while though the ex isn’t at fault and it’s the fault of the other woman, or the “home wrecker”. As Theglobeandmail says “infidelity stings” and that’s the roots behind the newest online burn book, shesahomewrecker.com.
The creators of the site have turned their anger to exposing the women who chose to become involved with an involved man. The site, which is a little over a year old, encourages women to upload photos of the mistress that’s “driving them mad”. They then tag those photos with the full name of the “home wrecker” and the state she lives in, hopefully warning future victims about these people.
“In almost every story, men are positioned as helpless fools who fall prey to scheming, careless women.” Theglobeandmail says.
“I will never forgive this homewrecker for what she has done to me and my family. I don’t understand how someone can even live with themselves knowing that they ruined a family, a marriage and a friendship. She will never have his heart like I did. EVER. I will love that man until the day I die. But I will NOT put myself through that pain and anguish ever again…I just wish home wreckers like her would think about their ‘boyfriends’ [sic] families before themselves.” one user of the site said.
The site chronicles all kinds of homewreckers but fails to place blame on the man, forgetting that it takes two to tango. For some it’s probably the therapy they need to move on with their lives. Placing blame often lets someone feel some sense of closure after having their heart broken. It must be working.
It’s not all about putting the home wrecker on blast though. Women like the one who lost her husband to “Carla” in Cincinnati said:
“Due to everything that has occurred, I am a broken woman. Carla, along with my husband, has ruined my life, my relationship with my husband and will probably ruin the family we have created. I am deeply depressed to the point where I am numb. I know I have not been perfect in my marriage, I know I have hurt my husband (not by cheating) and I know over the years I have slacked off on my wife duties not wholly because of his cheating but mostly. My marriage is hanging by threads and is completely broken because of this and a host of other family problems that have spun off because of this. I am not a spiteful person and I know by posting this there will be a lot of drama. I almost feel bad for doing it however; I am tired of being the only person to get hurt constantly because of them.”
The sites Facebook page is nearing 250,000 likes and they’ve recently been featured on Good Morning America where the producers put out a call for contributors from the site for an upcoming show. Users of shesahomewrecker.com speculate that this site could lead to a tv show, something juicy in the vein of Jerry Springer or Maury Povich?
The site says “Expose her now” and when you first arrive at the site it lets you check for the name of a homewrecker by name and state. The site seems to be monetized well with ads for things like checking criminal records, and kits for monitoring wireless phones.
