We’re at the Alabama Educational Technology Conference (AETC) this week and we have had the opportunity to speak with several exhibitors. Among these exhibitor companies is Book Systems. Book Systems is library and textbook/asset management software developer. They are used by more than 10,000 schools and libraries worldwide. We had a chance to ask the Book Systems team a few questions about the company:

What is Book Systems?
We have over 1,200 customers in the state of Alabama and over 10,000 worldwide. We develop library and textbook/asset management software. We assist librarians with managing their libraries. Additionally, we help textbook coordinators be able to utilize all of their textbook inventory which saves money. Our software helps Technology Coordinators that are implementing a 1:1 initiative. By utilizing our software, students are held accountable for the devices they receive.
How is Book Systems different from the current library software?
We are an Alabama based company that offers web-based solutions for the management of libraries and textbooks/assets. The application can be installed locally or we can host it for them. We get constant feedback that our customer service is the best in the business. Our technicians assist our customers with questions and find solutions to any problems they encounter. Additionally, we really listen to our customers and 95% of our enhancement requests come from their suggestions. Our products are also very affordable and we offer competitive pricing.
Tell us about your team and their backgrounds
We have approximately 60 employees that work out of the Huntsville office. From Sales, to the Help Desk, Technical Support, Tech Writing and Development, Conversions, Project Management, Marketing and IT. The majority of the employees have been with us over 10 years.
What is the next step? What do your current goals look like?
We continue to add features that our customers need to support their patrons and/or schools. Currently, we are working on additional mobile apps to enhance their abilities to do more remotely. Additionally, we continue to expand on communication methods (i.e., text message & e-mail notifications to patrons/parents/
