This one’s for the sexy people. A call you hear a lot at a night club but rarely on an app hoping to connect peers to peers in an effort to find a place to stay. But that’s exactly what you get when you look at LoveRoom a new app that is connecting attractive people to places to stay with other attractive people.

Part hook-up app part alternative lodging app, LoveRoom is Tinder meets AirBnb. BetaBeat says “No Uglies: LoveRoom Ensures Only Hotties Will Rent Your Extra Bedroom” 

“LoveRoom is a platform where people can rent their living space to other people under one condition: they need to be attractive  It’s like Airbnb for Dating 😉 ” is exactly what LoveRoom says about themselves.

Josh Bocanegra discovered the market for LoveRoom when he was renting an extra room to people using AirBnb. Bocanegra used his “hot” girlfriend’s photo instead of his own photo on their profile page on AirBnb. “so that men (and women) might find an extra reason to want to book our place,” he told BetaBeat. Bocanegra says they do really well on AirBnb and he attributes that success to using his girlfriend’s photo. Their rental space is no more than a studio apartment with an air mattress and no tv. They command $80 a night for this space.

AirBnb is obviously a business arrangement. Person A rents their extra space to Person B for XX dollars. What happens in the awkward situation when Person A co-occupys the space during the AirBnb rental and Person B finds them attractive or vice versa. That may be as awkward as trying to hook up with the woman at the front desk at your local Hyatt.

LoveRoom solves that problem. LoveRoom isn’t just about the overnight rental or the peer to peer rental it’s about the hook-up and Bocanegra freely admits that.

“The intent of the app is to give single people who travel often (or once in a blue) a place to stay where they might find love–or sex,” Mr. Bocanegra said. “What happens if you think the person you rented from on Airbnb is attractive? And vice versa. You’re in their home, you want to be professional. LoveRoom solves that problem.”

While LoveRoom has it’s purpose, in my opinion it’s far closer to prostitution than CarrotDating.
