In speaking with T-Mobile CEO John Legere at CES earlier this month he told us that he loves competition and being competitive. He doesn’t want the other carriers, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon to sit around being lame ducks while he parades around having “all the fun”. Well AT&T has been quick to respond to T-Mobile on several occasions even offering a pre-emptive strike which triggered the T-Mobile break up with your carrier promotion.
Now though, AT&T has come out with both barrels smoking. The nation’s second largest carrier, with the world’s “most reliable 4G network” has started a new promotion giving every customer, both new and existing, $100 credit per each new line created. Previously, when you add a line or start new service with a carrier, the first bill is often times the worst. Between activation fees, proration and a first month’s bill you could be looking at a lot more than your normal average monthly bill. Now, with this new $100 promotion from AT&T, they are easing, actually eliminating the pain of starting new service.
“Customers want the best of both worlds from their wireless carrier…..great value on their plans and service on a phenomenal network and AT&T provides both,” said David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility. “This $100 credit is a way we can reward our existing customers who add an additional line of service for their loyalty, and it’s an incentive for customers of Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and other wireless carriers to come to AT&T and enjoy the nation’s most reliable 4G LTE network.”
The promotion runs today through March 31st giving plenty of time for you to prepare to bring your service over to AT&T. AT&T has a smart line of smartphone devices and of course they were the original US carrier for the iPhone.
