TechFaster: What’s one thing you want the world to know about your company?
XYZprinting: With da Vinci, XYZprinting has redesigned the 3D printing experience and will reshape the entire industry by making it more accessible and feasible for consumers.
When did you launch, or when do you plan to launch? :
XYZprinting: We launched in Taiwan in 2013. We plan to announce our U.S., European and Japanese availability Jan. 6, 2014 at CES.
What does your company do, and how do you do it?
XYZprinting: Backed by Taiwan-based electronic manufacturing conglomerate, New Kinpo Group, XYZprinting is dedicated to bringing cost-effective 3D printing to consumers and households around the world. With proven industry expertise and an innovative spirit, XYZprinting is poised to break down the barriers of 3D printer ownership by providing an easy-to-use device that delivers an outstanding user experience.
Why do you do it? What problem are you taking on?
XYZprinting: With da Vinci we are moving 3D printing to the mainstream market by satisfying a need in the consumer and SMB segment for a 3D printer that delivers on affordability and usability. We are providing consumers and entrepreneurs with a cost-effective, yet quality 3D printer.
Tell us your founding story. What was the “ah ha” moment?
XYZprinting: XYZprinting is a new venture within an established manufacturing corporation. As a whole, New Kinpo Group has so much experience making printers and the 3D technology was something we saw potential in so we decided to find a way to make it more consumer-friendly and easy to use than ever before.
Tell us a little bit about the founder
XYZprinting: Simon Shen is Chairman of XYZprinting Inc. and CEO of New Kinpo Group, one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world. Mr. Shen believes that 3D printing technology is the wave of the future and he is preparing for the space age. XYZprinting will be looking into printing in new categories such as food and clothing and he believes this is where the technology space is headed.
What’s the next step? What do your current goals look like?:
XYZprinting: The next step is to launch da Vinci 1.0, XYZprinting’s first product across the U.S., Europe and Japan in 2014. From there, the company will unveil an entire line of 3D printers that will reshape the entire industry.
