Add saving lives to the ever-growing list of Facebook use-cases. A Kentucky woman, Susann Stacy, says that the social platform undoubtedly saved her life.

According to WKYT.com:

Stacy reported to the Leslie County Sheriff’s Office that her husband heard her in the bathroom on the phone with another man. She says he confronted her, and beat her with a handgun. She said he ripped the phone line out, leaving her with no way to call 911…To make matters worse, she had no cell reception, but she did have WiFi.

Without the ability to call for help, Stacey turned to Facebook. Stacey posted a picture (graphic) of her badly beaten face and captioned it “Help please anyone.”

According to News.com/au (contains a graphic image), “One of her friends who saw the post called the Leslie County police.”

This is just the latest event in a long line that really solidifies Facebook’s movement from a website, into more of a utility, of-sorts. Below is WKYT’s coverage of the event:
