Living with food allergies can suck. One of the biggest problems with food allergies is that there are so many out there. Right now there are a lot of apps available that cater to diabetics, peanut allergies and people who are trying to live gluten free. But what about others with random or more obscure food allergies.
That’s what Wazinit is for.
Wazinit is an app that allows the user to enter what foods they are allergic too and then takes those allergies and compares them against a database with tens of thousands of product, provided to the company by most of the giant food manufacturers. Once there is a comparison of a certain product the app lets the user know whether or not they can eat that food.
To make things even easier, Wazinit incorporates a barcode scanner that allows users to quickly scan a barcode in the grocery store and see if that food is on their good or bad list. Previously that process would take hours. Someone with a food allergy could attempt to scan a label themselves and manually look for their allergens or they would have to go home and search the internet for that valuable information.
Jillian Jewel a nutritionist based outside of Atlanta told us that what food allergies can cause severe reactions, and fast. That’s something that typically only the person with the allergy realizes.
Sometimes that one ingredient isn’t even listed on the label. With safety in mind Wazinit makes things super easy for people living with food allergies.
