For years the Ford Mustang has been an iconic symbol of speed, power and muscle. It’s largely appealed to a demographic of car drivers not too concerned about the latest technology outside of what’s under the hood. Well this year Ford is set to change that image, as the 2015 Ford Mustang has been named the “Official Car Of The 2014 International CES”
Ford typically has a presence in the CES auto section. Over the years they’ve showed off technology like Ford Sync, the latest app integration and GPS systems. That will continue this year as Ford plans to continue to show off those features along with MyFord Touch, MyKey and Track Apps that provide performance metrics.
Ford will showcase their 2015 Ford Mustang convertible at their CES booth. CEA, the organization that produces CES will display that hard top version of the 2015 Ford Mustang in the main lobby.
At last years CES Ford and GM opened up new developer portal to get developers on board with their new app based in dash systems.
This isn’t the first time that Ford has been named the official car of CES. The 2013 Ford Fusion was the official car of the 2012 CES. In 2012 the company announced it’s new research and development laboratory in Silicon Valley. Also in 2012, Ford showed off the 2013 Fusion Energi their plugin hybrid version of the popular Fusion sedan.
CES runs from January 6th in Las Vegas Nevada with press day. The actual show runs January 7-10th and consumes most of “the strip”. The largest parts of the show are at the Las Vegas Convention Center, LVH, and Venetian hotels. You can keep up with our CES coverage here.
