Update 2:47pm: Gmail is back again this time with more functionality then 15 minutes ago. You can now send messages. Don’t hold your breath though Gmail is still showing up as problematic on the Google Apps Dashboard.

Update 2:40pm: Gmail is again totally down.

Update: 2:33pm:  Gmail will let you in now and let you read emails and move through your folders however you are still unable to send messages. Google+ and Google Hangouts still seem to be out as well.

There are widespread reports that Google’s webmail service Gmail is down. Our email here at Techfaster, which is a Google Apps account, is also down as are my personal Gmail accounts. However, when checking the Apps dashboard it still shows that Gmail is up.

Techcrunch has also experienced the same problem with Gmail and the same status on the Apps Dashboard, an official Google product.

Twitter is lighting up with people who are experiencing this Gmail outage as far away as Hungary. Most are expressing the same sentiment that we are, Gmail simply doesn’t go down.
