On average, a person has over 20,000 breaths and over 100,000 heartbeats per day. The app lets users manually create breaths and heartbeats so they can learn the step-by-step processes of these intricate systems at their own rate. Among many other features, users can drag and drop oxygen into the capillary vessels to illustrate how inhalation supplies the body with energy and exhalation disposes of carbon dioxide; move the diaphragm to simulate breathing; and tap on features of the heart to see how it distributes blood through the circulatory system. Six Labs go into greater depth, exploring the cellular processes of the lungs and the heart. At all stages, kids can tap for detailed text.
A unique feature of this app is the six Labs which range from detailed physiological overview to microscopic analysis of the components of blood and other elements.
