A new app from Standard Media Company is letting kids across the country and around the world video chat with Santa. It’s a cute little app that lets your child have a conversation with jolly ole St. Nick himself.

If you dig into the app you’l understand exactly how it works, but it’s just as innocent as Google’s phone calls to Santa but with the video component added as well. Most kids 5 and under will think they’re actually talking to Santa Claus.

The app lets you or your child select which Santa to call. You can select “naughty”, “nice” or to leave Santa Claus a voicemail message. The app uses your iPhones front facing camera to simulate a Facetime call with Santa Claus. But here’s a tip for the older kids, it’s only going to work one time so you may want to try it out first to make sure you have it down.

The reviews are great. Many people like it better than the regular calls to Santa Claus which could very well be any person pretending to be Santa Claus or a pre recorded message that gives you just enough time to ask the right questions.

There’s definitely no harm in the app. It is $1.99 but if you’re one of those parents that’s using Santa Claus as a behavior modification tool, this may be right up your alley.
