For whatever reason, there don’t seem to be many web platforms at this years One Spark Festival. However, My Elements – one of the few platforms – looks really interesting. In a nutshell, My Elements is, “A knowledge sharing web based network seeking to create change and collaboration by harnessing the power of common interests and ideas.”1 Interesting concept.
My Elements is designed for use by anybody with intellectual curiosity. The current popular social networks have provided the platform for chaotic and tendentious social attention rather than providing a platform for finding one’s passion in life. My Elements wants to provide a platform for those either trying to find or, seeking to expand existing, passions, aptitudes, and life interests. My Elements is a portal to improve connectivity and promote collaboration amongst people.2
My Elements is aimed at four different user groups: students; professionals looking to continue learning; schools and educational institutions; corporations. The corporations group seems a bit odd at first glance, but My Elements seems a perfect platform for high-tech companies to share information.
