Plexr, a One Spark Creator, has a very strange app, so strange that it may just blow up. Think about it. What did you think when you heard of Snapchat for the very first time? Or Vine? Or Whisper? All a little bit strange, but now they are all at the top of the app stores. Plexr falls into the same sort of category. Here is how the company describes the application:
We want to revolutionize the way people share content using their phone. Even though there are multiple ways to share media today in the market, we believe a very important element about sharing that will bring people closer is still missing in all of them. The missing element is the user feedback for the shared content.1
User feedback, then, is the main element of Flexr. The argument goes that the ‘lol’ and ‘haha’ are not really indicative of the real response to shared content. So, enter Plexr:
When a user shares content via Plexr, the receiving parties’ reaction is captured as they view the content. A reaction video is generated for both users to then view and enjoy. This allows us to finally do away with “LOL”, “love it”, “awww” or any boring responses of that nature. With Plexr, you can actually see how the content you shared REALLY made your friend feel.2
So as noted above, a little bit strange. The more you consider it, however, the more interesting and useful the idea becomes. We are definitely looking forward to checking out their booth at One Spark.
