In 1948 when Polaroid introduced the first instant camera, they were definitely on the cutting edge of technology.

Through the companies over 75 years of existence they’ve actually been on the cutting edge of a lot of technologies. They released an instant video platform that didn’t take off. They were also one of the first companies to market with a digital camera, other manufacturers quickly took over the space.

The Polaroid camera has made a hispterish retro comeback. Now you can buy Polaroid cameras at Urban Outfitters. But outside of that they offer a variety of different personal electronics products that do so-so. When they innovate, other manufactures are still there to take those ideas and make similar versions of their products that people actually buy.

For instance, Polaroid introduced a pocket printer a few years ago. LG released a pocket printer last year and his since upgraded their device to a version 2.0. LG’s pocket printer actually prints pictures using almost the same process as a Polaroid photo.

Now, Android tablets are nothing new. It seems just about every company that can solder a display and some circuits together has released an Android tablet. This holiday season Android tablets ranged in price from$24.99 to $4.99.

Polaroid has now released a new trio of Android tablets called the Q series. Engadget reports that Polaroid’s new tablets come in 7,8 and 10.1 inch sizes.

Price wise Polaroid’s new tablets are priced between the low low cost junk and the average priced Samsung Galaxy Tab line. The Q tablets start at $129.99.

But wait price isn’t the kicker here. For diehard Android enthusiasts and those hoping to get a device with the most current version of Android need not look further than these new Polaroid tablets. Polaroid is shipping the tablets with Android 4.4 Kit Kat right out of the box.
