It’s widely known that one of President Barrack Obama’s favorite things outside of politics, running the country and his kids is basketball. On the campaign trail in 2008 he made in stop in North Carolina and took on some of the UNC Tarheels. He’s also been known to unwind by watching basketball, both the NBA, and the collegiate level.
That’s why it’s not surprising that in his downtime these days he has been catching up on some college hoops. While we don’t know if he took Warren Buffet’s billion dollar bracket challenge, reports suggest that if he did have a billion dollar bracket he had forecast Dayton to lose in the first round.
Perhaps it was because Dayton burst the president’s bracket that he decided to tweet Dayton Senior Forward Devin Oliver after they upset first round favorite Ohio State.
Obama took to his official Twitter to say: “Devin Oliver, I may need to take you up on that pick-up game one of these days,”
He signed the tweet BO indicating that he tweeted that message himself and not someone on his social media team.
While the tweet received thousands of retweets and a response from Devin Oliver there were several people that didn’t take to kindly to the president’s sentiment towards March Madness, or the Dayton Flyers.
As for his own bracket, Obama had Ohio State getting shut out in the sweet sixteen and the Duke Blue Devils going to the elite 8. Overall he was 14-3 in the first round.
