How is your product different from what is currently available?
It is being bootstrapped out of non-traditional startup location like Delhi, India while targeting the US (& worldwide) market.
Tell us your founding story. Was there an “ah ha” moment?
Resumonk was built by Bharani Muthukumaraswamy when he couldn’t find any software to create a nice resume for himself easily. He was an engineering student applying for various internships. After getting traction and paying customers for the ‘Pro’ plan (which has now been rechristened as Premium Plan), he incorporated and went full time on it in June 2013 after finishing his college.
He connected with Aditya Babbar through Hacker News. Aditya already had a SaaS product for K-12 schools in India and was doing consulting projects at that time. They worked on a project together to test out their working equation, and soon Aditya joined him as a Co-Founder.
Our users love Resumonk as it makes it easy for them to create an impressive resume. Currently our revenue is growing at a rate of 4% every week and that is the biggest testament for our product.
Tell us about your founding team and their backgrounds.
Bharani Muthukumaraswamy (Co-Founder): Designer & Developer. It’s his first startup straight out of college solving his own need.
