Audio quality is one of those things you don’t ever think about until you hear either an incredible quality, or a very poor quality. Even then, we tend to only think about our bad audio experiences. One bad experience that really stands out, for me at least, was the classroom audio at my undergraduate college. In a few different classrooms, it seemed that every time the instructor used the speakers/audio in some way, there was an incredibly annoying humming noise and or nasty feedback. This humming and feedback made it quite difficult to give the instructor undivided attention. No more.
Roemtech Audio has solved this problem for educators and students alike. Roemtech has developed a mixer and amplifier that eliminates hums and buzzes from audio playback, HummBuster Technology. According to their launch release:
(HummBuster Tecnology) automatically suppresses noise that sometimes infiltrates classroom audio systems. Roemtech developed algorithms that listen to the audio on each input. After analyzing all audio inputs with and without filters, the internal microprocessor intelligently determines the optimal settings and then stores them.
What’s even more, Roemtech has further refined the technology so that the HummBusting, as it were, is 100% automated:
With the Auto HummBuster technology, the onboard computer samples the audio while switching the HummBuster filters in and out all the while listening for the best settings. Once it has determined the best settings, they are set and stored in the onboard memory. Even if there is a power outage, the filters will be restored to their optimal settings.
We had a chance to swing by the Rometech booth at the 2014 Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC). The team explained the product and showed us a demo of the HummBuster in action:
