On Sunday, LG posted a new video, teasing the upcoming G Watch. The G Watch will be one of the first wearables powered by Android Wear, Google’s project to extend Android into wearables, along with Motorola’s upcoming Moto 360. While LG has yet to set a release date, or provide any technical details about the G Watch, a series of leaks provide some detail.

According to @evleaks – who tends to be spot-on – the new LG G Watch will feature a 1.65 inch, always on screen with a 280×280 resolution. The device will have 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

As far as the teaser video, nothing of much consequence was revealed. The G Watch will be waterproof, an will be “Ready for anything, anytime with a single charge,” which really doesn’t mean anything at all.

Anyhow, LG has begun sending out media invites for a massive release event, scheduled for May 27, 2014.. All signs point to the event as being the official release of the LG G3 smartphone – LG’s new flagship. The company even confirmed as much in its latest earnings report: “Higher revenues are expected in the second quarter [of 2014] with the release of the flagship LG G3 smartphone and wider roll-out of the mass-tier L Series III.”¹  It stands to reason that the G Watch will also be released at this event.
