You can typically tell the brand new bootstrapped companies at CES. Either they blew their life savings on some extravagant booth they didn’t need, or their booth could be confused with a science fair booth. Not everyone has the millions of dollars to spend on CES that the likes of Samsung, LG and Qualcomm have.
Well one company, called Padholdr was able to make a huge splash at CES with their simplistic booth. It worked, see, we’re writing about it.
The company makes a wide variety of tablet stands. Whether the application is for home, the car or commercial, Padholdr offers simplistic, yet functional stands, mounts and holders for most commercially available tablets.
It’s that simplistic innovation that made Padholdr’s founder Jim Benham, decide to construct their CES booth out of cardboard.
Now we aren’t talking about three fold science fair setups or cardboard boxes fashioned into a monstrosity of ill faded design. No, Padholdr’s booth looked just as good as a $100,000 booth just across the convention center.
What it did do though, was save the staging team a ton of time. “it took 4 hours to assemble opposed to other exhibitors who spent months(and no salesmen were paper cut in the installation)” Benham said in a statement. Breakdown of their booth took 10 minutes and everything was deposited into a recycling pile.
Benham and the Padholdr team were able to generate a roaring buzz with their cardboard booth. They knew they wouldn’t be the only manufacturer at CES with tablet stands and accessories so they used their booth to attract attention. Once people came to check out the booth, it was up to the Padholdr staff to
capture the attention of buyers.
“People have been coming by all day just to see the booth.” Benham said. When asked what inspired the innovative concept that is one of a kind this year at CES, he said the structure should imitate the philosophy of technology. Always looking for ways to be innovative, efficient, eco-friendly and completely awesome!
