The Google Play store offers Android users a large variety of options when it comes to streaming music and radio apps. A recent analysis reported on by trusted music industry website allaccess.com revealed that Accuradio was the highest rated radio app for Android.
Accuradio ranked at 4.75 out of 5 possible stars in the Google Play store, outperforming Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio, Slacker and many more.
“User ratings are clearly based on both the quality of the app itself and of the content delivered by the app,” noted ACCURADIO Founder/CEO KURT HANSON, told allaccess.com “and we believe our high user ratings are a testament to the quality of the product we’ve been building for the past decade.”
Current ratings of Android radio apps:
- K-Love 4.65
- Songza 4.63
- Digitally Imported 4.62
- TuneIn 4.55
- iHeartRadio 4.54

Of course this isn’t a very sophisticated research study. There are several factors that play into these standings for instance Accuradio has 2,379 total reviews whereas iHeartRadio has 274,644 reviews.
Accuradio didn’t appear on a top rated list of Android apps from All Things Appy, on technewsworld.com. CNet’s Jason Parker also did a top list of radio apps for Android which didn’t include Accuradio either.
The Radio and Industry Newsletter (RAIN) also pointed out:
- Music ID services Shazam and Soundhoundwere among the six most-reviewed apps in the cohort.
- Pandora received twice as many user rankings (1.1-million) across all stars as the next most-reviewed app, Shazam (545,000).
- In the top five most-reviewed apps, the lowest-scoring was Google Play Music, which came in 35th.
- TuneIn and iHeartRadio, the leading digital radio aggregators, were the 7th and 8th best-ranked, respectively.
