According to the Clinton family the one thing that HIllary Clinton wants more in this world than to be President of the United States is to be a grandmother. Thursday afternoon Chelsea Clinton announced that dream would be fulfilled “later this year”.
The former first daughter, now 34, married Marc Mezvinsky, a close friend from college and Sidwell Friends school in Montgomery County Maryland, back in 2010. Mezvinsky is the son of former Pennsylvania Congresswoman Marjorie Margolies, who is running for that seat again this year.
Chelsea Clinton announced the news at an event that her and her mother are hosting in New York City. Almost simultaneously, Chelsea’s proud papa and the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, took to Twitter to also declare the news.
The tweet is timed almost to the minute that USA Today, People and The Huffington Post also broke the story. According to the Clinton Foundation, Bill is tweeting himself from his account @billclinton and typically posts 5-7 tweets per week depending on what he’s doing for his foundation.
President Clinton made reference to his Twitter profile saying “Excited to add a new line to my Twitter bio… grandfather to be! @hillaryclinton and I are so happy for Chelsea and Marc!
Chelsea Clinton has moved into a bigger role at her families foundation, spearheading efforts that pertain to health. It was also reported earlier in the week that the younger Clinton is no longer saying a flat out no when questioned as to whether she will one day run for office.
