To take a part time hobby and turn it into a full time job is not an easy task, but the folks at Cyanogen are hard at work to prove they can do it. After raising $7 million to start the company and get things going they have just announced that the Series B funding is completed now. With another $23 million in investments, this time led by Andreessen Horowitz the company has announced that they still have big plans.

With the money received the team plans to expand beyond their current 25 employees, and add on additional staff to help make their visions become a reality. Having so many dreams is great, but Cyanogen wants them to become a reality so do to this they will need additional staff across the company including areas like engineering, UX, design, products and more.

“Mobile has really just begun. Apple, Google, and Samsung have not won. Although it seems like they’ve won, it’s still early days.” –  Kirt McMaster, Cyanogen’s CEO.

The road to success is one that has a ton of road blocks in place for the Cyanogen team, but they have had a rather successful year so far. They have been able to roll out their companion installer, landed deals with hardware manufacturers and more. With the visions set high, the funding rolling in and a team of people who are dedicated to what they do we can expect some great things to come.
