FETC

This week, we will be in sunny Orlando, FL to bring you coverage of the 2014 Florida Educational Technology Conference, or FETC. This years conference is the 34th annual FETC. The FETC is the conference to go to for all things ed-tech, and we are excited to bring you FETC Faster.

The conference program is designed to provide educators and administrators an opportunity to learn how to integrate different technologies across the curriculum – from kindergarten to college – while being exposed to the latest hardware, software and successful strategies on student technology use. FETC is designed for teachers, principals and deans, district administrators, curriculum designers, media specialists, technology directors and various other educators.

There is going to be an awful lot going on this week.  There are more than 200 concurrent sessions on such topics as: communication and collaboration, digital content and productivity tools, game-based learning, instructional design and curriculum delivery, to name a few. There is also a massive exhibit hall with more than 500 companies exhibiting.

FETC 2013The 2014 FETC looks to feature many of the ed-tech industry’s heavy hitters. The keynote speaker list includes:

  • Jaime Casap – Global Education Evangelist at Google. Jamie’s session is entitled: “Iterating Education.”
  • Danny Forester – Host of the Science Channel’s “Build It Bigger.” Danny’s session is entitled, “Globetrotting the World of Architecture and Engineering and The Science Behind It All.”
  • Rushton Hurley – Founder and executive director of the educational nonprofit Next Vista for Learning. Rushton’s session is entitled, “Creativity, Inspiration, and Where We Go From Here.”

Even further, FETC 2014 is holding 150+ lecture/workshops. The workshop topics run the gamut from augmented reality, to game-based education, to IT infrastructure, and everything in between.
