As though navigating to Google’s home page and then typing out what you were looking for was a terribly difficult task, Google has gone ahead and made it even easier to use. Google has added the “OK, Google” hotword detection to their own Chrome browser via a very easy and free extension. Currently Google offers this hotword detection on Google Glass and a select few Android devices, but bringing it to the computer is something many will want.

The process is really easy to get this all set up. First you have to have Google Chrome installed on your machine if you don’t already, and you will need to have a microphone as well. Then head over and download the free Google Voice Search extension. Finally head over to the Google Search page, say “OK, Google” followed by your search command and you are rolling.

Whether looking to make cooking that Thanksgiving Day turkey a bit easier, or trying to find out how to remove the wine stains from your carpet this is sure to help people get the answers they need very quickly. So, what are you waiting for? Get the stuff all set up, and get some test runs in so that when your family shows up on Thanksgiving you can impress them with your voice powered computer.

Now we wait for Google to release some hardware and software that will prepare our Thanksgiving meals, and clean up after them!
