Kindervention

Kindervention – from Abrams Learning Trends – solves a very real problem in early childhood education. According to a statistic given on the Kindervention brochure (PDF), more than one-third of entering kindergartners don’t know all their letter names. That is not the major problem, though. The problem arises out of a lack of resources. While many school districts perform diagnostic screenings of entering kindergartners, and often are able to identify the at-risk students. However, many teachers aren’t afforded the time and resources to provide the additional instruction and support to these at-risk students.

Built for the Common Core State Standards, this all new program brings at-risk Kindergartners up to speed.1

Kindervention is the perfect solution to the at-risk students/teaching time problem. The Kindervention program is designed to be taught in two 10-minute mini-lessons per day, a short amount of time that just about any teacher can work into the daily lessons.

The Kindervention program is made up of a variety of components, with elements of print and digitial. Practice and assessment opportunities are provided both in print and online. What really makes Kindervention stand out is the online teacher/parent tools. The teacher is able to view detailed reporting on student performance, and is more able to track and determine students’ progress.

We were able to stop by the Kindervention booth at FETC 2014 where we learned a lot more about the program:
