Pop music’s divas are making the rounds with their fall releases. The fall is typically the hottest time for new music with artists hoping to drive sales before and during the holiday season. Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry have already released their new album’s this fall. Lady Gaga is soon to follow with her new album ArtPop which debuts next Tuesday.
Lady Gaga’s album will release with the same gusto her other albums have. She’ll create a ton of buzz with her antics alone, but this time around she’s turned to technology to help bolster sales and creatives.
While artist apps are nothing new, and a few artists have even gone to releasing new apps alongside new albums, Gaga’s app, also called ArtPop, isn’t just about the album it’ a visual art app.
According to Rollingstone, ArtPop will allows users to create “auras” which are similar to avatars or profiles, and then create their own works of visual art. Visual artist Jeff Kroons is the creative backbone for both the app and the visual design of Gaga’s new album.
