As more and more states begin changing their position on the recreational use of marijuana, opportunities are cropping up for marijuana startups and apps. We’ve already seen marijuana subscription boxes for paraphernalia delivered to homes, and now here come the apps.
A company called Dispensed2U has taken to the crowdfunding site indiegogo to launch their new app with the same name.
Dispensed2U will be a free mobile app for iOS and Android devices. Users, in states where recreational marijuana usage is legal, will be able to use the app to have marijuana delivered from dispensaries that deliver. Users will also have the option to order their marijuana for pick up and save their favorite orders.
“This app will revolutionize the way customers can order and receive their product. Simply sign up on our website or mobile app, place orders with nearby dispensaries and receive recreational marijuana delivered right to your door,” said Tim Martin, Chief Executive Officer of Dispensed2U, Inc.
“This app will be ready for use in states where recreational marijuana is legalized. When other states legalize it, we’ll be there,” added Jared Morrison, Chief Operating Officer of Dispensed2U, Inc. Currently, both Colorado and Washington have legalized recreational marijuana use, and several others have pending legislation to follow their lead.
The Dispensed2U team is looking to raise $125,000 in an Indiegogo fixed funding campaign. They plan to use the funds to develop the app and travel to states where recreational marijuana usage is legal, to help promote it. If funded Dispensed2U plans to get the app on the market in time for a 4/20/2015 launch.
