Mobile app developers are finding more and more ways to become one with the user. That’s what Pop Secret (yes the popcorn company) has teamed with Deutsch LA to create a mobile app that syncs with a dongle for your iPhone. A dongle is nothing new, but this one is. The dongle that syncs with the Pop Secret app, emits the smell of freshly popped buttered popcorn. Now you can get the smell of the movie theater concession stand on demand.

Why? Because people love popcorn.

The app, is actually a game called Poptopia. In the game your objective is to shoot popped kernels into the “Almighty Mouth God” As you get more and more kernels into the mouth, the dongle emits more of the popcorn smell into the air around you.

If you’re a popcorn lover you’re probably wondering just how much this will set you back? Well the app is free but the dongle will cost you $150 . The dongle is currently available on ebay until Dec 13th with all the proceeds going to the American Red Cross. After that it should be more readily available.
