Tmobile-SimThe commercials are everywhere. It seems people are shouting through the rooftops, “Go Prepaid”. There are also a lot more prepaid wireless services out there now.

Companies like Virgin Mobile, Cricket, Walmart and Straight Talk are all going after the prepaid customer and that customer has changed. Prepaid was once a service that was targeted at people that couldn’t secure monthly contract plans. Now the tide has turned and people are beginning to see that with today’s prepaid wireless plans you can get the same features, advantages and benefits as the major carriers with a monthly expense that’s much more easier to manage.

The four major carriers also offer some kind of prepaid service but T-Mobile is making extremely easy for their customers. T-Mobile’s international branches have been in the prepaid business forever. Across the pond prepaid is a fact of life and makes traveling easy. Whenever I travel to Germany, or London for a tech event I almost always pick up a prepaid sim which can be cost effective, even for a few days.

Tmobile-screenshotT-Mobile is hoping to beef up their prepaid customer base by offering free prepaid sim cards on their website. Droid Life reported earlier this week that all you have to do is go to tmobile.com, order a sim card (or 2) and voila you can start an account. You can use a debit or credit card through Tmobile.com to get your account going.
