Motorola, Tattoo, Wireless, WearableFrom the, this sounds insanely ridiculous but they’re really trying to do it category:

Motorola has filed a patent at the US Patent and Trademark office for “Coupling an electronic skin tattoo to a mobile connection device”.

If you’re curious about how this would work, Motorola (now mind you they are now owned by Google) would want you to get a sensor laden tattoo put on your neck. We’re not sure if it’s a real long term tattoo or a temporary tattoo.

The sensors in the tattoo would then respond to the vibrations in your larynx which could then be interpreted into actual words while you are on a call. This would totally eliminate wind noise and give you the ability to be heard on your calls, hands free mind you, anytime you want. It may also improve the voice call in very loud situations like rock concerts.

The device would then send the information back to your wireless device via Bluetooth, NFC or some other communications platform and then out to your caller. You may also be able to use it for voice to text and other hands free functionality.

Engadget is quick to point out that the patent calls for the tattoo to go on people or other animals which is a bit odd.

Now we’ve heard the story or two of people who’ve had BlueTooth devices implanted in their ears so to those people this may not come as any surprise or even the least bit weird. But while we know Google is working on driver-less cars, perhaps they are working on phone-less phones as well.
