While he was a quarterback at The University of Florida, winning two SEC Championships and two BCS championships, Tim Tebow was dreaming of the Superbowl. When Tebow went in the first round to the Denver Broncos, his chances for a Super Bowl greatly increased. Unfortunately, as the Denver Broncos play the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl, Tebow isn’t on the team. In fact after going to the Jets and the Patriots, Tebow isn’t on any team. Currently, aside from an ESPN show, he’s contract-less.
That makes him the perfect spokesman for the John Legere spear headed “uncarrier network”, T-Mobile.
As we’ve all seen, T-Mobile ditched Carly last year and it’s been full speed ahead with a grass roots marketing blitz making everyone aware that T-Mobile is the contractless, uncarrier, wireless carrier. A sentiment that Legere is trying to revolutionize the entire industry with.
With that in mind, Tebow has starred in a super bowl spot for big magenta. The spot shows everything that Tebow has done now that he doesn’t have a contract. Of course it’s all made up but it’s funny as heck. Tebow stars in a movie, doing his own stunts. He finds big foot. He delivers a baby. He speaks at the United Nations and plays chess with one of the best players in the world. He even walks on the moon. All the while the theme is that he couldn’t do any of this stuff without a contract.
The end of the spot of course goes to a magenta and black screen and the announcer says that T-Mobile will buy you out of your contract. Another push in their break-up campaign.
