Well, we just came across a startup that is looking to make this a real possibility. eVisit has built a unique telehealth software platform that allows doctors to meet with, and diagnose patients via a sort-of Skype-type call. We had a chance to ask the eVisit team a few questions about their new software:

What is eVisit?
eVisit is telehealth software that enables providers to increase patient flow and revenue, while providing convenience to their patients with online treatment.
Why did you build eVisit?
We’re passionate about solving big problems in healthcare. eVisit makes quality care more accessible to patients and helps providers increase their practice revenue through telemedicine reimbursement. Now providers can communicate with and engage their patents whenever and wherever is most convenient, and patient have a more convenient way to get treatment from the doctor that knows them best, their doctor.
How is eVisit different from what is currently available?
Our cloud-based SaaS application allows physicians, PAs and NPs to evaluate, diagnose and treat minor medical complaints remotely, via 2-way webcam interaction, within their existing patient population. Unlike our competitors, eVisit is the only telemedicine platform that calculates and collects patient copays and provides the proper workflow to allow a physician practice to submit medical charts for reimbursement.
Tell us your founding story. Was there an “ah ha” moment?
eVisit is a patient engagement software platform for SMB healthcare providers. The software allows healthcare providers to connect with and treat their patients remotely and facilitates reimbursement for telemedicine visits. eVisit is transforming the healthcare delivery model and disrupting the $135 billion dollar primary care delivery market by providing physicians a tool to recapture patient visits from urgent care and emergency room facilities. Physicians reclaim lost revenue from missed appointments and patients receive high-quality care while at work, home, or on the road, from the doctor that knows them best, their doctor.
