If you’re a hardcore road warrior, and who isn’t these days, and you’ve been looking to consolidate your tablet and phone experience than a “phablet” is definitely for you. These days there are a lot of “phablets” on the market to choose from, but one manufacturer gets it right every time.
Samsung, is now in their 3rd iteration of the Samsung Galaxy Note. The phone/tablet is small enough for a phone but big enough for a tablet and to top it off the Samsung S-Pen makes sure that no matter what you’re doing your input gets recognized and in a clear way that feels natural to the touch.
One of the most common problems for people that use a smartphone from one manufacturer and a tablet from another, is that the user often gets mixed up on what device the important info they have is actually located. With one device, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, it’s always with you. Combine that with the Galaxy Gear smart watch and you’re back to two screens but in a non-obtrusive way.
The Samsung Galaxy Note provides a 5.7″ display which is clear and beautiful, and it can be seen well even in sunlight. Not only that but at 5.7″ worth of display that’s nearly double the screen space of the iPhone 5S. It’s a full HD SuperAMOLED display at 1920×1080 which means the picture is brilliant and sharp, something you need when you’re working.
S-Pen
The S-Pen is what sets Samsung’s Galaxy Note series apart from the others. The S-Pen fits snuggly into the device itself and when released it triggers the menu offering up all your S-Pen apps.
Operating System & Software
Because the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 runs Android it has easy integration with Google’s wide range of services including Chrome, Search, Gmail, Google+, Maps, Play Books, Play Movies, Play Music, Play Store, Hangouts, Voice Search, YouTube, Google Settings, Play Games, and Messenger.
Add to that Samsung’s suite of services that just keeps improving every year and it’s a match made in heaven.
Experience
Samsung has made the top selling Android tablet year after year with their Galaxy Tab series. They’ve also produced the top selling Android smartphone year after year in the Galaxy-S series. Both of those factors mean one thing to the consumer, the Samsung phablet is going to be the best of the best.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch, when coupled with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 provides the user with an amazing experience. It provides a good quality notification interface like that of the Pebble watch, but Galaxy Gear goes more than a few steps further. It also has voice commands and you can take/receive calls on the Galaxy Gear. Speaker quality sounds just as crisp as a smartphone but you can pair it up to a Bluetooth device.
Speaking of Bluetooth, the range is a good 150 feet or more. The Galaxy Gear gives me piece of mind around the office and even the house. If I have the Note 3 or the Galaxy S 4 paired with the Galaxy Gear and my smartphone is charging, I can still get those important calls. With the Pebble I need to run around and find the phone.
