youtubeYou know those lists that come out every year which highlight things that students graduating high school never experienced? They’re all done in an effort to make the adults feel older. Well there’s going to come a time in the not so distant future when kids graduating high school won’t remember life before YouTube.

For some it’s hard to believe that YouTube will be ten years old next year. For other’s it’s hard to remember a time before YouTube even existed. How did we ever keep ourselves entertained before YouTube. That’s the question that youtubedownload.altervista.org answers in the infographic below.

The infographic takes us on a journey from the creation of ARPANET, the internet and even CD-Roms (who remembers those things). It even highlights the creation of the internet by Tim Berners-Lee, and not Vice President Al Gore.

For some it will be hard to believe that the internet existed before Google, but the fact of the matter is that Google came nine years after the internet and there were several search engines before that.

Take a look at the inforpahic and figure out what you were doing when these influential technologies were created. Prior to YouTube were you big into Myspace? Well Myspace is only two years older than YouTube.

I remember going outside, playing with friends, things like that. What did you do for entertainment before YouTube. Sound off in the comments.
