Zappos is back in the news this week. Last week we reported that after spending some time with Zappos founder Tony Hsieh, Kanye West said the company sold “sh*t product”. By the time the mass media caught the story Zappos had responded with this awesome video.

Wednesday the uber creative company and their ad agency Mullen spread holiday cheer to weary travelers at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The company took over one of American Airline’s baggage claim carousels starting at 8am. Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, is the most traveled day of the year.

AdAge reports that Zappos turned that baggage claim into a roulette wheel of sorts. The carousel was adorned in Zappos banners and cut up into sections similar to a roulette wheel.

Each section was designated a prize that ranged from Zappos gift cads, to Jansport backpacks, Ugg Boots and even Kitchen Aide Mixers. When a passenger’s suitcase from one of seven flights, landed on a prize the traveler got that prize. If two different passengers had suitcases that fell on the same prize, both travelers won that prize. And no worries, travelers with multiple bags had to pick only one prize,

This isn’t the first time Zappos has said thank you to customers on Thanksgiving eve. Last year they paid travelers tolls in Massachusetts. The company chooses cities that have a lot of customers using their e-commerce site.
