mashtagsIf you didn’t think the internet was everywhere, this may change your mind.

Birds Eye, the leading manufacturer of frozen potatoes in Australia, and a major player in frozen foods internationally has taken your love of the internet and social media to new heights. Sure dinosaur, monster and character shaped french fries are nothing new. You pour them onto the baking sheet and voila ten minutes later you have french fries that have special shapes.

Now Birds Eye has taken to the internet and social media for their latest shapes. Business Insider reports that their newest Birds Eye’s newest product, called Mash Tags, is a play on hash tags. The shapes are the hash tag (#) symbol, a smiley emiticon, an asterik and the @ symbol used in email.

“The addition of Mashtags to our food range is an exciting development for Birds Eye. Social media is all about conversation and we’re confident Mashtags will resonate across various groups of people,” Pete Johnson a Senior Brand Manager at Birds Eye told Business Insider.

He adds: “We’re constantly looking for ways to innovate and inspire consumers and hope that Mashtags will get people talking around the table and help to make mealtimes more enjoyable.”
